Farah Naz Gokturk
Farah Naz has been teaching yoga since 2009. Inspired by the spiritual and movement practices of yoga, she trained with Seán Johnson and Mitchel Bleier at Wild Lotus Yoga in New Orleans, LA. Influenced by this interdisciplinary approach to yoga, movement and spirituality, Farah continued her studies with areas of focus including Thai Yoga Massage, Therapeutics, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, Yoga Philosophy, Storytelling, and other forms of dynamic movement. She creates yoga practices to evoke wonder, weaving postures together to lift the heart, encourage creativity, and foster deep listening of our innate wisdom.
Farah’s classes integrate elements of meditation, yoga asana, and dynamic movement with an additional focus exploring rhythm, music, storytelling, philosophy and poetry. Farah is passionate about her family, cooking and baking, slow-living and environmental sustainability. Farah has a BA from the City University of New York: Hunter College in English Literature + Film & Media Studies. She speaks French, Turkish, and understands Armenian. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT-200, YACEP) & Health Coach. Farah lives in Asheville, NC with her husband Seán Johnson, and their young son, Finn.
