Ainhoa Bilbao Cebrero

Born in the Basque region of Spain and migrating to the United States as a child, Ainhoa’s life has been a continuous “inner pilgrimage” expressed through art and her heart. With a background in Fine Arts and Education from Appalachian State University, she spent years teaching diverse children in inclusive settings, a path that deepened her commitment to guiding others with compassion and integrity as well as dedicating herself as a bhakti artist.

Ainhoa’s spiritual journey was shaped by years of living simply on the earth with few belongings, a tarp for rain cover, art supplies and a blanket. She apprenticed in earth-based spirituality under her late mentor, Christy Gray connecting deeper to the Great Mystery & Divine Mother through the ancient practice of calling the directions, Shamanic journeying and deepening her relationship to this beautiful earth.

Many moons back, Christy introduced her to her husband Gota and married them beneath a Maple tree. Through Gota, Ainhoa came to experience the spirit of yoga and continues to learn from him. She lives in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC with him and her two amazing step daughters, dedicated as a visual artist, story teller and poet.

Originally a practitioner of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, Ainhoa found a profound connection with Kundalini Yoga. She is KRI Level 1 and level 2 certified in the Mind and Meditation module. After completing her 200-hour training at the Asheville Yoga Center, Ainhoa fell in love with Bhakti yoga—the yoga of the heart. She is presently finishing up her 300-hour training at AYC. 

Today, she weaves together Kundalini yoga, Bhakti poetry, and shamanic roots to create a transformative practice. Returning to AYC after five years, she is honored to share a Shakti flow class that honors her connection with the Divine Mother and the Great Mystery. She is passionate in  inviting all to connect in their own unique and genuine way no matter what path you’re on and  is dedicated to offer all the opportunity to discover their limitless potential within.
