Ashlee Dunn, B.S. Elementary Education has been teaching yoga for over two decades. She has developed yoga programs, taught classes, and guided workshops and retreats for studios around the country. She holds certifications in multiple forms of yoga.
Ashlee began her yoga path with Mary Lou Buck in Charlotte, NC in the 90s. Ashlee was the first person to teach local power yoga classes in Charlotte. A few years later, Ashlee discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and traveled to India twice to study this form with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. While in India, she also studied yogic philosophy, pranayama, and meditation with Dr. Shankaranarayana Jois and yoga asana with Dr. Peetambar Mishra in Varanasi, India.
Ashlee continued to study, practice, and teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for about 15 years in Boulder, CO, with her principal teacher, Richard Freeman. She taught daily Mysore classes, courses, and workshops at the Yoga Workshop in Boulder and has a deep appreciation for the Ashtanga internal form and the benefits this practice brings.
Over the past few years, Ashlee added Unnata Aerial Yoga and Yoga Nidra to her repertoire, receiving certifications in these forms. She also studies and practices Dream and Sleep Yoga with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche of the Bon Tibetan tradition. She has found these practices to be life-changing, bringing healing and transformation to the entire system. Ashlee is a Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra guide and Reiki practitioner.
Alongside yoga teaching, Ashlee is also a writer, former school teacher, CNA, and most recently Education Coordinator at the Ayurvedic Institute. She has a broad understanding of the current stresses in our society and enjoys helping others find specific modalities to achieve greater health and well-being.
