“Breathe and know you are truly ALIVE! This is yoga” ~Jennifer C-O
Jennifer is a registered E-RYT 500 and YACEP logging well over 1000 hours in advanced study of classical hatha raja yoga. Bringing inspiration both from daily explorations on and off the mat as well as study with her teachers, Jennifer’s classes emphasize breath guided practice for health, wellbeing and personal transformation. With backgrounds in classical hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga her classes are a truly holistic experience incorporating intentional asana, mantra and pranayama as is appropriate. Each class asks that any and all perceived limitations and/or assumptions be relaxed to step out of the proverbial box and into one’s true potential. Students often leave surprised of their capabilities and the limitless possibility of the practice. She also offers regular private sessions and retreats in her home studio in Hendersonville in which principles of hatha yoga, holistic health coaching and personal exploration blend together to meet the needs of the individual.
While Jennifer enjoys teaching workshops, trainings and retreats around the world she is so happy to be back in the mountains after many years teaching in larger cities, enjoying the bounty of nature and the sincerity of the Asheville Yoga community.
Gratitude to all the teachers along the way who have shown light on the path.
Class Schedule for Jennifer
Friday April 27 | 12:30 - 1:45 pm | *Slow Flow & Restorative |
Monday April 30 | 2:30 - 3:45 pm | *Gentle Flow & Restorative $10 |
*Recommended for Beginners
-
Gentle indicates the class is not vigorous, but slow and soothing, perfect for those wanting a more relaxed and softer practice. Also excellent for beginners, the elderly, and pregnant women.
-
Power indicates a vigorous practice that will challenge and energize you with its focus on building strength and concentration as you flow through powerful, flowing sequences. This type of class is meant to challenge you and your existing practice, make you sweat, have some fun, and try and inversion (or three!). Not recommended for beginners who do not have a basic knowledge of yoga postures.
-
Warm classes allow the body’s tissues to soften more deeply, as the room is kept between 80-89 degrees.
-
Hot classes involve a dynamic and challenging practice in a room heated to 90 degrees or above. You will sweat, so please bring your own mat, water bottle, and towel. First time students are discouraged from attending HOT classes, as they tend to be fast-paced, and are meant for those already familiar with basic postures.
