Kundalini is considered the "yoga of awareness" and is the oldest form of yoga still in practice today.Class usually opens and closes with a musical style of group chanting called Kirtan, sometimes accompanied by instruments, sometimes voices only. This style opens your heart, increases your vitality, builds stamina, endurance and is deeply infused with devotional energy. Kundalini yoga utilizes breath, movement, meditation and mantra to align body, mind and spirit. This style compliments all the other traditions with its ability to take you deeper into yoga while practicing at your own pace. More than anything, Kundalini yoga is about the inside of you, rather than the outside.
GENTLE Indicates the class is not vigorous, but slow and soothing, perfect for those wanting a more relaxed and softer practice. Also excellent for beginners, the elderly, and pregnant women.
