Meet our Therapeutically Oriented Instructors
Asheville Yoga Center employs some of the best Yoga Alliance certified instructors and certified health care professionals in the nation. With their guidance, you will deepen your knowledge of yoga as you explore therapeutically oriented yoga traditions, modalities, and yoga practices.
Diane Saccone, MT (ASCP), E-RYT 500, has been practicing and teaching Yoga as Therapy throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southern Appalachian states for several years. Her concentration uses Yoga as a therapeutic tool combined with her medical knowledge to help people recovering from injuries inflicted by illness, trauma, PTSD or injury and to teach healthy lifestyle habits for all ages.
She currently is the Community Wellness Manager at the Woodfin YMCA. In addition to her full time duties at the Woodfin YMCA, Diane serves the YMCA of Western North Carolina as a LIVESTRONG at the YMCA cancer coach, Moving for Better Balance Falls Prevention Program Director, Active Aging Adult Program Director and is the National Spokesperson for the YMCA’s 50 Moving Forward program, an initiative that focuses on health fitness prevention in the form of promoting health screenings and vaccinations, healthy eating, physical activity and social interaction for the 50 + population.
Diane’s other passion is working as the assistant-director of Asheville Yoga Center’s 500hr Yoga Therapy Teacher Training program.
In Diane’s spare time, she maintains a mobile yoga studio where she brings therapeutic techniques and healthy lifestyle skills to communities throughout Western North Carolina and is the co-founder of Bosom Buddies, a Cancer Support Group for women in Weaverville North Carolina.
